Taranaki Pioneer Village (Stratford)

Taranaki Pioneer Village is a regionally significant, unique outdoor museum attraction located on SH3 just south of Stratford, Taranaki. The museum has 32 buildings open for public viewing featuring the heritage of Taranaki. The buildings cover a wide range of social and economic activities including a church, colonial cottages, a school, a bank, a railway station, farm buildings and a hospital.

The Village Board of Management has conceived the development of a new exhibit hall devoted to the future and history of electricity. They believe this exciting project could contribute significantly to the educational resources available to the local community and be an important, strategically located, regional tourism attraction.

The Board selected the Godwin Design team (Bryan Spondre, Jill Godwin, Christopher Johnstone) to co-ordinate, research and prepare the Conceptual Planning Report for the exhbit hall. The Board were well pleased with their choice.
